For you chicken holders here, I just purchased a treadle feeder that keeps the feed covered by a steel plate until the chicken steps on a plate. This is to prevent the rats from getting in the feed.
Now it seems like the chicken figured out the trick.
The next step is to prevent them from pooping on the top lid. Anything I can do to discourage them from sitting on the top of the feeder?
