Gene Editing Questionnaire – aimed at primary school students (Year 6, Avg age 11-12)
Answer Yes or No to the following 19 questions;
01. I would agree to an experimental gene therapy that might save me from a deadly disease.
02. I would agree to an experimental gene therapy if it made me a better organ donor for a loved one.
03. Curing disease with medicine is the same as curing disease through gene editing.
04. I would edit my genes to make myself smarter or stronger.
05. People should be free to edit their own genes without limits.
06. Adults should be allowed to permanently change their skin colour using gene editing.
07. Gene therapies that reduce the risk of certain diseases should be mandatory to help limit public health costs.
08. As part of their rehabilitation we should genetically modify convicted criminals to make them better citizens.
09. Editing genes to increase sporting ability is better than using performance-enhancing drugs.
10. Genetically modified people who contain plant or animal DNA are less human.
