You get a lot of those -style intro to the fedi posts which finger-waggingly go "remember, liking posts doesn't improve visibility" and I've always been wtf about that because I was pretty sure nobody on twitter was using them for algorithmic boosting *anyway*.

I put it to twitter and yeah guess what, people like posts to... tell people you like their post.
