I've been addicted to social media for a while now, and it's been bothering me, but I kept procrastinating and pretending everything was fine.
But, you know... the amount of time I've been wasting scrolling through TikTok and Instagram was getting ridiculous!
So, I removed all the shortcuts from my browser, deleted all the apps from my phone, and decided to take a real break from it all!
I kept only LinkedIn for professional purposes, NOSTR (because, why not?), and YouTube. My behavior on YouTube is much healthier; I don't watch shorts. I consume a lot of technical material for work or learning about topics I'm genuinely interested in as hobbies. Things like economics, ancient history, prehistory, and so on...
Let's see how far I can take this detox. The next step is to cut down on gaming too. Fortnite is super fun to play, but if I let myself, I can lose hours on it daily.
Time to do something useful with all this extra time, right?
