Is there any reason why users can't just host simple, suckless, markdown blogs & use rss readers to follow rather than having to host an enitre instance for yourself alone as a way to communicate with other users online. Not to mention that traditional forums act as a better place to live and reside for long-term discussion rather than small threads in a hap-hazard micro-blogging format. It's semi-pecular for Xitter sure, but i'd rather have a traditional self-hosted indie-blog than what we have now
