I recently rediscovered a protocol that I didn't know was a protocol until now called scuttlebutt. I remember hearing this term a long time ago on Hack 5. Didn't understand what they were talking about and they I remember them talk about gossiping and stuff like So this idea of what Noster has been tried before. I don't know how Scuttlebutt is different from Noster, but it's been done before.
