I think openoms is hinting at the right point (below). The RPis with 4GB RAM are already out of breadth, 8GB are struggling with mempool. A few FCs can already get you a used Thinkpad, with more power, faster SD throughput and possible raid / ZFS options.
If mempool fees are here to stay, LN running might turn into a similar ecosystem as mainnet mining: centralised and specialised with deep pockets
