The early church fathers are the same. If there was any loose brotherhood between Christians and jews initially, it quickly dissolved after they couldn't cooperate in the rebellions against Rome.
Similar break happened in Islam. At first Muhammad tried to coexist, but they kept trying to assassinate him and side with Medina's enemies just to drive him out, so Muhammad had to drive all the jews out of the damn city just to have some peace.
