I've never been the "radio on a shelf right in front of him" guy, I've always had radios right on the desk, off to the side of the computer monitor. I like having arm support because I'm a big band cruiser, pretty much need the radio right on the table for that. The tilted screen seems to fit the bill in this case. With the seperate head I could move it to right in front of the keyboard too when I don't need the computer and have the radio right there!
