The UK Govt has become infected with FOMO in relation to LLM and what it considers AI.
I doubt any budget work has been done on the energy cost for AI first.
Given the failures of politicians to understand the downside of throwing technology against the wall compared to the feel good of doing the throwing, I wouldn't trust any of them to understand an implementation plan.
This isn't helped by technologists also not appreciating the same issues.
