If you can find this really old variety of bean, I strongly recommend it. It's called Miami (like the once-inhabitants-of-Michigan Native American tribe), a fast-growing, heavy yielding pole bean. It has a distinctive pod that balloons up around each seed. This variety was gifted to me.
