In the current scene, my MC is returning to her apartment after an extended period of time at work, and it's a downpour. I *was* just using the weather to set a mood, but the addition of lightning and thunder opens up a new avenue of exploration; it's a sensory overload that provides some vital clues toward overcoming her adversaries.
