I think that it really depends from the lens quality .. 1080p could be very good when the source is good (for example video shot with full frame canon eos 5d) .. it is noticeable the difference with 720p .. while i can't see too many differences with 4k .. you should stay too near to the screen .. but also there, if you don't have good lens you can't notice differences
