The thing is that you don't see it in other platforms because there's people employed to do it for you. I know it because a friend of mine does it for Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and I think that's it. He takes down stuff like that every single day and multiple Facebook groups per week.
Automation won't work because on one side it is invasive and only works on non encrypted content, and on the other side you can use a database with file hashes, but you just need to slightly modify the file for the hash to change.
And as it was already said, you can disable the Mastodon relays and that will get rid of 99% of it.
