The ventilation in the LVCC (the DEFCON venue) was very poor! My meter sometimes indiciated 2000+ ppm in my Village's speaker room when it was full, which suggests they were just recirculating air. And of course nobody was wearing a mask (nor did the conference actively encourage it). We and they must do better.
I masked almost the whole time, except to hydrate. Four COVID-free years was a good run, and well worth the precautions I took, but it's all probabilistic.
