Of course, who doesn't?
I like stories that have a bit more depth than surface appeal. If everything is laid out perfectly, exposed in whole and tagged as this that or the other, with no room for the reader's imagination to interpret anything other than what is stated, then how can they make the story relevant to them?
Symbolism, consciously or otherwise, is the door you create which allows a reader to find their way into your world
