Even worse was convincing everyone they HAD to goto college. So we sent them to $30k/yr schools for fields that haven't existed in 20 years. Now they can't even get a job at the gap but they gotta pay back $100k with 6% interest on $14/hr. No bankruptcy protections, nothing. There wasn't even someone there to say "hey, maybe borrowing $80k for a degree in art gender studies is a bad idea." If ever there were a clear cut case for predatory lending this is it.
