At first, I thought I was being too harsh when I called Javascript a blob of putty. I think it's an apt metaphor. Without type handling (don't get me started) it does feel like you can just sorta mold everything into whatever you can think of. This of course sounds *GREAT* right? But in practice... If I ask for something specific, and I expect it to have specific properties, it behaves in a certain way or it looks a certain color... The ability for people to basically have Ditto appear to be exactly what I'm looking for until I go in to use it and I find out that it's this conglomerate of random pieces... That is frustrating to say the least, and that makes you have to do a lot of things to "ensure" what you are given is what you are expecting.
