TRAPPIST-1 is one of the most intriguing exoplanetary systems ever discovered, with 7 Earth-sized worlds orbiting a red dwarf star. Unfortunately, red dwarfs can be testy in their youth, hurling catastrophic flares at their planets. It's believed these flares would strip away any atmospheres from these worlds, rendering them uninhabitable, but new research says that might not be true. Rocky planets might be able to create and maintain a stable atmosphere over time.
