There used to be some really nice MP3/FLAC players that were based on android but that was 3 or 4 years ago. Idk if they're even being made any more. The only big downside is they were stupidly expensive but the upside is they acted as a DAC if you wanted, they could power pretty heft cans, and they had stupid amounts of onboard storage along with expandable storage for your FLAC library.
Sadly it seems like when Apple quit making iPods the MP3 player market died and they pushed for everyone to stream. A lot of people are still buying older iPods and just modding them so they use SD cards but the downside is there is a size and library limit. Having a large library with cause it to freeze up and if you go over the max size it will absolutely refuse to work.
