I don’t think the U.S. “depends” on imports since we are one of the biggest food, and oil producers in The World.
We import goods, and services to provide global liquidity.
We technically could be self-sufficient like we were in the 50s.
Now are there maybe metals, and other materials we might need maybe but overall I’d say we’re doing ok.
