Is there a word for trotting out out “true Scotsman” as a defense when someone deviates from the actual definition of a term? For example, when I say that an MVP is the thing that adheres to Ries’s actual definition, what’s it called when somebody trots out “true Scotsman” as an excuse for justifying the non-MVP thing they’re building?
