It used to be that if you needed expertise about something you'd ask dad/pap/uncle or go to a library as needed. Being taught a skill by a family member seems to stick in the memory so much more than watching some random "like and subscribe" instructional video.
With the familial structure having been thoroughly decimated, coupled with the reliance most people have on the one click away availability of information, it makes you wonder how much relevant information is even being retained, let alone passed on.
