In one book I’m reading, there’s a chapter called “Body Map”, which discusses childbirth, historical accounts relating to it, and raising children.
I’m skipping it.
I hate doing that, but I can’t read it. Not after my own struggles. It’s really hard feeling so…triggered by something that should be natural to me, but I am. And I can’t subject myself to reading it. Not yet. Maybe not ever.
Some might say that’s defeatist. I say it's self-preserving.
Do you ever skip chapters while reading?
