Its pretty obvious but one way to reduce the exodus of female teachers from schools (once they are mothers) is to shift employment conditions so they don't feel they have to choose between the wellbeing of their own children & the children they teach - seems pretty obvious when you state it like that, doesn't it.... but, the schools' system has been slow to recognise this simple truth. Luckily the penny has now dropped!
