#056 - Municipal Power
"Municipal Power" is a Service card, costs 1 bitcoin or the Fiat equivalent to play, and allows Players to exchange excess Energy for Fiat or Fiat for Energy.
This card also has a checklist of activation/utilization requirements that must be met before the card can, in this case, be utilized. The Player must not have already utilized it this turn, and the Player must control at least one Residential Grid Hookup.
Rarity: "Municipal Power" is Uncommon in the Core 2025 set. While power stations are fairly abundant, there might only be one in a smaller town or city. These should pull occasionally from starter decks and booster packs so you'll need to trade to get enough for your decks.
"Municipal Power" is of the Service type. Services in play can be activated or utilized by ANY Player who meets the requirements. When the controller of a Service utilizes it, the utilization cost is discarded, otherwise its controller keeps the utilization cost as a fee!
Strategy: The "Municipal Power" Service can be useful in Energy abundant decks, offering a way to monetize any extra Energy that a Player may have available during their turn. Just be sure to also include some Residential Grid Hookup cards so that you're able to utilize it!
In short, the "Municipal Power" card is useful when you have abundant Energy, or to rake in some extra fees if other Players have extra energy and have a Residential Grid Hookup to send their Energy to the power company though.
