Luck is one important aspect of success. But don't discount the accumulation of hard work over years building something. And you may be thinking about the kids or grandkids of someone who worked hard in the past getting things handed to them, but I'm sitting here working hard trying to give my kids a good run out of the starting gate and help them have something to build on. I look at people all across society that are at the tops of their fields, and they didn't get there without a huge amount of hard work. Sports stars are lucky to be born with natural gifts, but they have worked far harder at their craft than anyone else. Then I see things like flappy birds, and yeah, sometimes it is just pure unpredictable luck, and other times it is just getting everything handed to you. So for sure success is a mix of things and not the same for everyone. My advice to the world is to put in the work now so you are ready when a chance at an opportunity comes your way. Oh, and stop and think what your definition of success is so you know what you are working hard for .... (hint: it probably shouldn't be fame and fortune.)
