You have said this all so beautifully, thank you so much for posting it. And so many people think of themselves as kind-hearted and compassionate, when their actions show otherwise.

I do have to disagree on one thing. When I had cancer, there were a lot of people who abandoned me. Both family and friends. It was an aggressive type, and so when I needed people the most, they decided they couldn't deal and stopped contacting me. I've had people tell me that I was very lucky my husband stayed with me and supported me so much. It's sad that the expectation was that he would leave me.
