Well, here is for consideration by those who do not care for the Ubu / Deb bloodline...
For years I used Virtualmin, and about 5 years ago I switched to YunoHost. YunoHost requires a clean install of Debian, and Virtualmin had always better compatibility with the Deb-base than with the Red Hat base. I also tried to use MAAS, but that does not work on VPS, and a few years ago i switched to ProxMox - which is again Deb-based.
Going forward I suspect to remain on Deb-based distros, but my needs are exclusively dictated by the upstream. cjd has use-cases far surpass my minimalist list, and "bug-free" means different things in different use-cases. For me the effortless upgrade from the shell from one release to the next was as bug-free as anything can be.
