ConscientiousPoster (npub1ktn…9aht) blue eyes arent blue, their are two disks of melanin in the eye, blue eyes have a hyper melanated back disk and an empty front disk, melanin will exorb radiation but this will reflect it, so blue eyes are potentially protective against radiation.
blue eyes might be a predatory advantage for seeeing at night as well by reflecting light back into the eye they usually arent perfectly blue so a high intial reflection will increase the back reflection into the pupil whille still reducing the overall radiation contacting the iris
