In discussions on #Chrome vs #Firefox, the issue of profiles vs multi-account containers come up. Unfortunately, it's apples and oranges.
Chrome's profiles are useful for security. You can have different extensions, browser settings, bookmarks, history, per profile. If you don't trust your browser extensions (and you shouldn't) you can have a different profile for security-sensitive stuff (e.g., bank account, SMS messages).
