There are reactionaries in every generation. It's why hoping for the old racists to die out so the youth will save us is a lost cause. Younger racists will just take their place. Because everyone who benefits from conservatism because of whiteness and preexisting family wealth or who is deeply indoctrinated into bigotry will just stay that way without some kind of intervention or shock to the system, particularly if they continue getting richer as they get older, as people with money usually do.
