Because as long as the app knows what it supports and the podcaster knows what they support.
It’s up to each app to say yes I’ll pay in BTC or XMR or whatever.
It’s the communication lookup of the option url that makes this possible.
I could see a day when there governments watching BTC and lightning may try and stop you from sending sats to a person.
Censorship is real. We have seen that even with Alby blocking countries.
