I'm painting on canvas that I prepared by gessoing with a rough texture since the background of the origibal painting is a rocky background. I ragged a reddish color to start since the original has a lot of red tones. This afternoon, I transferred the image with charcoal and painted in the outlines and blocked in the darks with burnt umber. This painting is significantly larger than the last one.
