Considering you can't go straight fiat->Monero on American exchanges, it's not even a theoretical possibility right now.
There needs to be a gateway drug, or a benefit to taking the additional steps to get into crypto. If privacy isn't the draw (and why would it be for a fast food chain?) then there needs to be something else. It's not ease of use yet, cash is still easier. "Money that appreciates over time" is (sadly) a novel concept now, maybe that's good enough, but then you're talking Bitcoin until something else with an equally impressive chart captures more mindshare.
