I just read The Death of Grass a couple of weeks ago. Not exactly a laugh a minute.
Have you read Station Eleven, by Emily St. John Mandel? It's a little bit more hopeful than most post-apocalypse stuff.
A couple of other interesting ones I've read in the last couple of years:
Nod by Adrian Barnes.
And Then I Woke Up by Malcolm Devlin. Really interesting twist on zombie apocalypse type of story.
