As the temperatures and seas rose and the storm winds howled … as the beasts became extinct and the people perished … the world’s few trillionaires rubbed their hands, for more of humanity’s accumulated wealth became theirs by default. Then something odd happened: As humanity dwindled the unimaginable wealth of the surviving few became infuriatingly meaningless, for money and wealth are human constructs. And as the last man died the whole pile of money lost all meaning and was just ‘stuff’.
