There were a lot of people who took James Lindsay seriously when "Cynical Theories" came out, because he was telling them what they wanted to believe about leftist philosophy, and they didn't have enough academic knowledge of the topic to recognize that what he was telling them was mostly nonsense. I wonder if those people have ever gone back and revised their views of critical theory as Lindsay has gone on to expose himself as a total crackpot.
