I’m currently rereading a book I first read a few years ago, called “The War of Art”, by Steven Pressfield. It’s about the battle against what he refers to as “resistance” that all of us face when we embark upon pursuing something we are passionate about.
Highly recommended, and it’s a fairly quick and easy read if you have a short attention span like me. 😅

quoting note1qwe…v2vqMaking a change away from an established and normalized routine or custom will always be met with resistance. Resistance is uncomfortable, and we are wired to avoid pain. The path of least resistance is the comfortable path, because it’s accepted and “normal.” It requires the least effort from us, and elicits the least criticism and pushback from our peers. But if the change is worth making, then we must choose to combat resistance at every turn, else we resign ourselves to complying with it. The first step is identifying whether a change in our lives is needed and good, and then once we make that determination, turning head first into whatever resistance we face no matter how uncomfortable or uncertain it may make us feel in that moment.
