Two very different perspectives on use of FPGAs in neo-retro projects:
A: "Why bother using any actual parts at all, why not just bundle it all into a single big FPGA if you're going to go that way?"
B: "The FPGA is now the poor man's ASIC, it exists to express what once was expensive custom silicon, and is thus valid for any use to which you might put it, so long as the cost is comparable."
