Worried about the npub1rg2wzhmtefyh6cjg334setzf26q7yl5jt5v08etrccqlezvm5f6q28ku23 (npub1rg2…ku23) trend. Feels like the proof of stake version of nostr while paid relays with lightning is the proof of work version.
The user experience of having to convince 5 people you are not a bot before gaining proper access to the platform seems bad.
If this is popular you might have issues to get the attention of verified people beacuse they filter out non verified bots.
Reminds me of the torrenting sites where you where required to build a reputation by seeding but it was essentially impossible to get a good ratio as a new user.
The decentralization aspect is troubling as well. This does not look to be just another NIP. It is by putting some people at the top of a trust hierarchy.
