And since the summer 2022 it was the main Kremlin's TV propagandist idea - when it was clear they couldn't conquer Kyiv.
In addition to this, later, they described western powers to be not only provoking but actively (by soldiers) participating in the war. Explication: To be defeated by NATO ("polish+negros army" as thay described it) in the battles 2022 was less humiliating than accepting defeat by Ukrainians...
