I write things that support production. If it solves the problem it’s done. If the problem changes it gets revisited. If there’s a mistake I fix it.
This colors my perspective as a consumer. There’s something I need to do and if I find the software that does it, I license it. I don’t care if a corkscrew gets added later to the knife. (I care no more about the developers’ sustaining income than they care about mine.)
