@Emeritus Prof Christopher May Yeah, I've noticed that too.
Annoying, but still not nearly as intrusive as on the commercial platforms. I expect spamfilters will be developed quickly, similar to those for e-mail.
And I believe in the self-cleaning nature of the Fediverse. Servers that get a bad reputation for spam will be blocked by more and more other servers.
