It's not "Google bad" per se, it's that since Edge and I think Safari are now all Chrome-engine wrapped in another application, there's a defacto monoculture on browser engines.

The only alternatives to this are Mozilla, who keep finding new and creative ways to shit the bed and piss everyone off; or the assortment of retro browsers, which even for the most hardcore retro nerd is excruciating on what we've done to the web.
