It really sucks how limited emulator choices have gotten. Particularly with the move to cores. Retroarch is complete shit as a frontend and from what I have seen a lot of the people are assholes. Macs have OpenEmu which has an absolutely killer UX, but its development has been glacial, so a lot of cores just don’t get updated and they don’t expose any advanced features.
I legit miss the days of standalone emulators. There are still some out there but the majority of some of the most advanced projects are just cores. I think we need better frontends tbh. I seriously can’t comprehend how anyone looks at Retroarch and thinks thats genuinely good.
