why do USB-C connectors not look like a smaller, double sided version of the one on the left, instead of this overly complex, fine-wire containing, cloggable hermaphrodite connector on the right?
yes, i know there is more pins on the USB-C interior, and i also know that both sides are the same but mirrored
apple made a standard like the one on the left, and that one on the left also is a USB-A male, without the stupid metal sheath around it... it's much simpler to put it in right, and so long as your socket is face up, easy to get it right first time, the only thing i'd say is it's a little loose on a lot of sockets, but it's literally a cut down version of USB-A and it's already better than USB-C
surely it should also be obvious that option A would also give you a hell of a lot more conductivity to carry the 20-50W typical in USB-C but no EU sez you must use this stiff, hermaphrodite retarded bullshit complicated cloggable bullshit for your devices
a) the shielding can be built into the socket
b) it is trivial to make it double sided
c) there is less parts and the parts are more durable with the wires embedded into the molding
d) it's basically waterproof, and if there is corrosion it is simple to clean it
e) it's not what socialist busybodies like when it just works
