I think Toyota is not closer than many other companies who promised to deliver solid-state batteries. Nothing is true until you see big volume production with profit.
The only way to be realistic with batteries is to see trends implemented now and investments in factories one year ahead. Even without solid-state there are many other improvements. Innovation can happen fast but development will still be gradual over some years as the shift in manufacturing from NCM to LFP.
