Ref inflation: Reason computes the “Sindex”, a sort of CPI but for tobacco, meat, candy, adult beverages, travel, etc. (i.e., the fun stuff). Since Biden’s inauguration it’s up 17.3%. Biggest increases were in gas, tobacco, candy, and meat: all up 22-28%. Prices of new televisions and airfares actually dropped. Increases were biggest in 2020-21; only candy is up more than 10% in the last year and the price of gas came down 27% (but is still up 28% from Jan 2020). Data as of June ‘23
