One aspect of the unraveling of SCOTUS legitimacy that people don't really talk about is that basically the entire wave of anti trans laws and anti gay laws over the last couple years wouldn't have happened if red state legislatures believed precedent would be upheld and followed by the Roberts Court.
Besides stuff like Romer at SCOTUS, lower courts have been throwing out stuff like crossdressing bans since at least as early as the 80s!
It's ridiculous!
